Steve is a Philadelphia product and played high lacrosse in the Inter-Ac League at Germantown Academy. His athletic and academic talents led him to the University of Virginia, where he enjoyed the distinction of starting every game in his career. Steve distinguished himself in two final fours and captained the Cavaliers in 2005. That year, Steve earned All-American honors and was selected as the Cavalier’s defensive MVP.
Since 2006, Steve has been a career starting defenseman at the professional level, logging over 140 career starts , 16 goals and collecting over 400 loose balls in both the National Lacrosse League (indoor) and the Major Lacrosse League (the outdoor professional lacrosse league). Steve currently plays close defense for the New York Lizards. He is a veteran of the Philadelphia Wings and San Jose Stealth, where he honed his skill as a box lacrosse player and transition specialist.
Steve’s career as a coach began in 2006 and he has enjoyed ample success in his career to date. Highlights include a national championship while serving as a Assistant Coach at defense for Virginia in 2011. Steve is currently an assistant coach at Malvern Prep in Malvern, PA, where he served as the defensive coordinator of the team that enjoyed a 24-0 perfect season in 2014 and a #2 national ranking.
He is the Founder and Programs Director of Fusion Lacrosse in the Philadelphia Area and specializes in teaching box lacrosse.
